Felipe Echávarri

Felipe Echávarri is a Senior Advisor on Educational Institutions at North Star Alliances. He is responsible for broadening relationships with national educational stakeholders as well as developing NSA clients’ outreach strategies to engage such stakeholders. Felipe is uniquely positioned for this work, as he has proudly served as an educator and administrator in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) for over four decades. During that time, he developed a keen understanding of the educational landscape in Los Angeles County, and built strong relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders at elementary and secondary schools as well as universities and colleges in the region.

While at LAUSD, Felipe’s accomplishments included expanding magnet school programs in various underserved communities across Los Angeles. Felipe also guided hundreds of LAUSD principals on how to implement new student enrollment protocols, and led recruitment fairs across LAUSD’s jurisdiction to increase parents’ awareness of the many different magnet school opportunities for their children.

Felipe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Cal State Dominguez Hills and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Cal State Northridge. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife Diane.
